"Quetzalcoatl: Toward a New Decade of Decolonizing Sacred Spaces"

XITO Fall Institute 2020

October 23-25, 2020

XITO's 6th Annual Fall Institute, which normally takes place in Napa, CA will be a virtual institute this year. The fall institute will focus on Quetzalcoatl, the precious and beautiful knowledge representing stability that comes from our collective knowledge, as we move into a new decade of decolonizing sacred spaces. Recognizing that our ancestors left us a sophisticated humanizing system, we will draw on the ancestral knowledge of Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl to inform a pedagogy of vibrancy and stability.

This 3-day institute is an opportunity to engage in and learn about the decolonizing and re-humanizing theories and methodologies behind the success of the former Tucson Mexican American Studies Program. This gathering is an intensive professional development opportunity with applicable, goal-oriented work participants can bring back to their own schools and communities. This institute is appropriate for educators, administrators, community organizers and cultural workers who are committed to decolonizing and re-humanizing education.

Our virtual institute will run on Zoom from 9am-noon on all three days. For a detailed agenda clock HERE.

3-Day Institute: $300 - you must enter the amount you are paying on the PayPal page ("Buy Now" button below).

Most participants seek funding from their educational institutions.
