XITO'S 10TH ANNUAL SUMMER INSTITUTE
¡LA LUCHA CONTINÚA!
JUNE 30 - JULY 2, 2023
TUCSON, ARIZONA
Join us this summer in Tucson to celebrate a decade of fighting for and building decolonial Ethnic Studies! Growing out of struggle, XITO has resisted attacks, including a seven year legal battle, that we are once again facing nationally - la lucha continúa - as we continue to build in solidarity with our comrades and colegas committed to our collective liberation.
XITO's tenth annual summer institute is a 3-day opportunity to engage in and learn about the decolonizing and re-humanizing Ethnic Studies methodologies developed by our collective, including our TIAHUI framework. This gathering is intended for educators, administrators, artists and community organizers who are committed to authentic Ethnic Studies and fighting for our youth and communities facing dehumanizing legislation and opposition. Workshops will include foundational underpinnings of Ethnic Studies teaching, curricular examples, intersectional methodologies and an evening of celebration with Flor y Canto.
COST
The summer institute costs $700. This price includes 3 days of in-person interactive workshops and materials, breakfast and lunch each day and an evening of Flor y Canto which includes dinner. Participants are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation. Registration must be paid in full by June 9, 2023.
